character & leadership program
Our Athletic Program strives to improve all our student-athletes in several areas. While what we are able to do on the field, court, track, and weight room are important, it is not the only thing that matters. We also want to build character and leadership from our players. We want to represent our athletic program in the best possible way. We will be the leaders of our school. We will strive to be the best, and will display character and leadership in everything we do.
Our student-athletes will receive 1 of 3 rankings depending on the points he/she has earned throughout the year. The points will be cumulative week to week. An athlete can gain and lose points based on the system below. The point system is set up so that it is hard to gain points, but easy to lose them. Points will be based on each person’s character and leadership decisions week to week.
We will also start a year end award for this category. At the Athletic Sports Banquet, we will name the "Lead Dog" award for character and leadership. The points will be calculated throughout the entire year to determine the winner of this award. We feel this should be one of our top awards for our student-athletes.
Based on the points, athletes will be in 1 of these 3 rankings:
Level 3 1000 points: Red
Level 2 700 points: Grey
Level 1 400 points: White
Points Awarded and Deducted for the following:
